THE PRESENTATION CEREMONY OF THE SELECTED WORKS OF MAGTYMGULY PYRAGY TRANSLATED INTO THE ITALIAN LANGUAGE
On December 27, 2024, a presentation ceremony of the collection of selected works of Magtymguly Pyragy translated into Italian was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The event was attended by heads of diplomatic missions of foreign countries in Turkmenistan, heads of Turkmenistan's diplomatic missions abroad, employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, as well as professors and students.
At the beginning of the ceremony, the rector of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Gulshat Yusupova, delivered a speech highlighting the global study of the great poet’s works and the significance of the collection published in Italian. Subsequently, addresses were made by Toyly Komekov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Italy, Carmelo Leo, Charge d’Affairs of the Embassy of the Republic of Italy in Turkmenistan, attache for business affairs.
Additionally, presentations were given by Kakajan Janbekov, Academic Secretary of the Magtymguly Institute of Language, Literature, and National Manuscripts the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, People’s Artist of Turkmenistan and Hero of Turkmenistan Saragt Babayev, Aysoltan Agamyradova, the teacher of the Italian language of the Department of Roman-Germanic Languages of the Magtymguly Turkmen State University, Mekan Saparov, the teacher of the Italian language of the Department of Roman-Germanic Languages of the Azady Turkmen National Institute of World Languages and Ivan Melkumyan, a member of the International Association of Translators and a lecturer at the UNINT University in Rome, who addressed the event via video message. The speakers emphasized that the creative heritage of the great poet is an inseparable part of the world's cultural treasury.
Currently, Turkmen-Italian relations, based on equality, friendship, and mutual benefit, are reaching a qualitatively new level. The translation of Magtymguly Fragi’s selected works into Italian serves as a vivid example of the friendship, fraternity, and close cooperation between Turkmenistan and Italy. Participants of the event noted that the poet’s views are based on the principles of good neighborliness, traditions, and adherence to customs with other nations.
At the end of the ceremony, participants expressed their gratitude to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero Arkadag, and the Esteemed President, who celebrate the literary heritage of the great poet Magtymguly Fragi on a global scale.
