Presentation of the Book of Selected Works of Magtymguly Fragi Translated into Chinese
On December 25, 2024, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted a presentation ceremony for the book of selected works of Magtymguly Fragi translated into Chinese. The event was attended by representatives of diplomatic missions from foreign countries and international organizations in Turkmenistan, representatives of Turkmen diplomatic missions abroad, employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, professors, teachers, and students.
Gulshat Yusupova, the Rector of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan; Parahat Durdyyev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Peoples' Republic of China; Xiang Naichen, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Peoples' Republic of China to Turkmenistan; and Mahriban Gelenowa, a the teacher of the Chinese language of the Department World Languages of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan made speeches. Video messages were also presented by Yue Gaofeng, Secretary-General of the China Equestrian Association; Dai Guishun, Dean of the Russian Language Faculty of the Beijing University of Foreign Studies; and Serdar Masharykov, the Senior Researcher and Senior Lecturer of the Silk Road Archaeological Cooperation Research Center of the Northwest University of China. The speakers emphasized the important role of translating the selected works of the great thinker of the East and humanist poet Magtymguly Fragi into Chinese in strengthening humanitarian ties between the two fraternal peoples and developing cultural diplomacy. The ceremony also highlighted the significance of the poet's profound and meaningful poems and his ideas, which call for peace and friendship for all humankind, in strengthening global peace and deepening intercultural and humanitarian relations.
Permanent Neutral Turkmenistan attaches great importance to developing strategic cooperation with the Peoples' Republic of China. The relations between the two fraternal peoples have deep historical roots. Currently, Turkmen-Chinese relations, based on the principles of mutual respect, equality, friendship, and consideration of each other's interests, have reached a qualitatively new level. Under the wise leadership of the Esteemed President, Hero Arkadagly Serdar, trade, economic, and cultural-humanitarian relations with the Peoples' Republic of China, particularly, cooperation in science, education, culture, healthcare, sports, and tourism, are constantly developing. Turkmenistan successfully cooperates with China not only on a bilateral basis but also on a multilateral basis – within the framework of major international organizations and reputable regional structures, including in the "Central Asia – China" format.
It is noteworthy that the works of the great poet Magtymguly Fragi mention China, historically known as Chin-Machin, in lines such as "I traveled to Chin-Machin, Rum, and Khorezm in search of fortune" and "My heart desires to travel to Chin-Machin." The translation of Magtymguly Fragi's selected works into Chinese is of paramount importance for further strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties between the two peoples.
This event clearly demonstrated the global recognition of the works of the humanist poet Magtymguly Pyragy, achieved thanks to the tireless efforts of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero Arkadag, and the Esteemed President, Hero Arkadagly Serdar.
