Bilateral cooperation between Turkmenistan and USA
Independence Day of the United States – the day of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence of the United States in1776, which proclaims the independence of the United States from the Kingdom of Great Britain. In United States of America it is celebrated on July 4th. Independence Day is a national holiday of the United States.
Bilateral cooperation between Turkmenistan and USA is built on long-term beneficial base, which was laid after establishment of diplomatic relations on 19th February 1992. In its foreign policy, the United States pays special attention to Neutral Turkmenistan in Central Asia, as well as it supports and guarantees the Neutrality of Turkmenistan. USA supports Turkmenistan’s world-class oil and gas projects. Diplomatic relations between two countries eventually helped determine the most important areas of cooperation that were more efficient. Relations with well-known companies operating in the U.S. oil and gas and chemical industries, computer technology, energy, agriculture, transportation, and communications have been established during this period. These include “Boeing”, “General Eleсtriс”, “John Deere”, “Miсrosoft”, “Сaterpillar”, “Сoсa-Сola” and other several companies. The visit of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to New York in September 2007 marked an important milestone in the history of Turkmen-American cooperation. The Turkmen leader addressed the 62nd session of the UN General Assembly. This has led Turkmenistan to a new level in terms of its relations with the international community. During the visit, the Turkmen leader’s talks opened up new opportunities for bilateral relations with the United States.
