Outstanding historical figures of the Great Seljuk Empire
On February 16, 2022, at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, in order to implement the instructions of the esteemed President on in-depth study of the historical figures of our people on a scientific basis, a television program was recorded dedicated to historical figures and scientists of the Great Seljuk State. The telecast was attended by Matgurban Matkurbanov, Gurbansahet Gurbansahedov, I-year students of the Faculty of International Journalism, as well as Annagozel Mekanova, a II-year student of the Faculty of International Relations of Institute of the International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
Tachnabat Paytykova, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Social Sciences of the Institute of the International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and Jemile Purjayeva, Lecturer of the Department of Theory and Practice of Journalism of the Institute of the International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, spoke in detail about the Great Seljuk Empire and the development of science in this state. The Great Seljuk Empire was the most powerful state of its time and with a population of about 150 million people and an area of 10 million square km. This empire abandoned the policy of militant subjugation of its neighbors and building a universal state, took care of creating not one, but several equivalent centers. According to Seljuk models, palaces were built far beyond the borders of the Great Empire. In the empire, art and science were so powerful that medieval Europe was captured by the Seljuk cultural expansion. The Seljuks left their contribution not only in art, but also in finance. Today the whole world uses the Seljuk term "cheque", as the Seljuks called banknotes.
In the interviews with the students, topics such as the scientific and literary heritage of Mahmyt Zamahshary, his influence on the spiritual revival of the East, his contribution to the development of the Turkmen language, as well as the creative heritage of Mahmyt Kashgarly, the place of his main work "Code of Turkic languages" ("Divan lugat atturk ”) in the culture and literature of the East, the legend of Myane-baba were discussed.
