NEW TEXTBOOK “ENGLISH FOR ECONOMISTS” PUBLISHED FOR HIGHER EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS
In the era of the Revival of the New Epoch of the Powerful State, large-scale programmes aimed at ensuring a prosperous future for the people of Turkmenistan are being successfully implemented. Within the framework of these transformations, particular attention is being paid to the development of the education and upbringing system, improving its quality, and equipping the younger generation with knowledge and practical skills that meet contemporary requirements. Strengthening the practical orientation of education and developing learners’ ability to apply acquired knowledge in real-life and professional contexts are among the important priorities.
A new textbook entitled “English for Economists” has been published for higher education institutions in Turkmenistan. The textbook was authored by A.Satgeldiyeva and G.Hallyyev and published by the State Publishing Service of Turkmenistan in Ashgabat in 2026. The publication is primarily intended for students of economics faculties, as well as for anyone interested in business and the fundamentals of economics in English.
The textbook consists of 13 units devoted to various economic topics. Each unit includes exercises designed to develop and consolidate specialised vocabulary, while the texts are accompanied by tasks that enable students to check their understanding of the material and use newly acquired vocabulary in practice. In addition, the publication incorporates modern teaching methods, including simulations, role plays, and case studies, aimed at developing critical-thinking and communication skills.
Particular attention is also given to students’ independent study, enabling them to explore topics of particular interest in greater depth. The textbook is designed to contribute to expanding students’ economic knowledge and developing the professional language skills required for their future careers. Thus, “English for Economists” will serve as a valuable educational resource for learning English for Specific Purposes (ESP) and preparing students for professional work in the field of economics.
