Waste management in urban conditions
On July 29, a round table meeting with a participation of representatives of the government, private and public sectors, the media, youth represented by the members of the student society and the Young SDG Ambassadors on the topic "Waste management in urban conditions" was held at the Grand Turkmen Hotel. The event was organized by the Delegation of the European Union to Turkmenistan. The main purpose of the event was to exchange opinions of various segments of the population regarding the analysis of priorities for subsequent information campaigns on waste management.
The issues of environmental culture education, improvement of the relevant legal framework, along with the dissemination of publicly available information on the accessible waste processing resources were discussed jointly. Proposals were announced to improve the sustainability of the infrastructure aspects of the processing industry.
It is worth noting that due to the wide variety of age groups of participants and their unique differences, the moderators of the round table were able to recreate 3 models of collecting opinions from the point of view of young people, people of mature and elderly age, which gave the objectivity to the results obtained.
The final part of the round table was the concluding speeches of several representatives of each of the groups, where Young SDG Ambassadors managed to distinguish themselves with their public speaking skills.
At the end of the event, the participants were thanked for their contribution; they were presented with memorable gifts.
