Competition “Russian Language as a Means of International Communication”
On February 2, 2022, a competition titled “Russian Language as a Means of International Communication” took place at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. It was organized by the “Lingvo World” Club of the Department of World Languages of the Institute. The competition was held in the Russian language. The aim of the competition was to improve students’ language skills and to develop their analytical and critical thinking.
The four teams representing their faculties competed on the following tasks:
1) to make a presentation on the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan;
2) to translate a passage from the Constitution of Turkmenistan from Turkmen into Russian;
3) to write Russian equivalents for the proverbs taken from the book “Source of Wisdom”;
4) to answer questions about the United Nations;
5) to solve the test on the given text.
At the end of the competition, the impartial jury, consisting of teachers from the Department of World Languages, announced winners.
As a result, the team of the Faculty of International Journalism won the 1st place, the team of the Faculty of International Economic Relations won the 2nd place, and the team of the Faculty of International Relations the 3rd.
