CELEBRATIONS HELD IN HONOR OF WORLD BICYCLE DAY
On June 3, 2025, at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan sports events were organized to celebrate the World Bicycle Day. With great enthusiasm the teachers and students attended to the celebration of this international holiday, dedicated to promoting health and well-being.
As its known, cycling has become one of the most popular sports worldwide, contributing to environmental sustainability and improving human health. In this regard, it is significant that, on the initiative of Hero Arkadag, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution on April 12, 2018, declaring June 3 as “World Bicycle Day” during its 72nd session.
Within the framework of these celebrations at the National School of Turkmen Diplomacy, competitive sports events were held alongside student-led bicycle parades. The festive ambiance was further enhanced by musical performances. Students even got to share their pride and thoughts through mass media, especially on national television. This widespread engagement clearly demonstrates continued commitment of Turkmenistan in this new historical era to developing cycling, promoting sports diplomacy and encouraging physical activity among its youth.
