The President of the Republic of Armenia Made a Speech at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan
On October 12, 2024, in the frames of the working visit of Armenian President
Vahagn Khachaturian to Ashgabat, a presentation of the translation of a collection of
poems by the great Turkmen thinker and poet Magtymguly Fragi into Armenian was held
at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of
Turkmenistan.
After a warm welcome, the distinguished guests were invited to an art exhibition,
which presented paintings by Turkmen artists and other national products reflecting the
cultural heritage of our people. The guests noted the deep respect of the Turkmen people
not only for their history and culture, but also for the values of other peoples.
Then the guests headed to the assembly hall of the institute, where the President of
Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan gave a lecture for teachers and students. The speech was
dedicated to a collection of poems by the great Turkmen poet Magtymguly Fragi,
published in the Armenian language.
The President of Armenia expressed his gratitude to the Turkmen people for the
opportunity to translate the works of the great thinker, noting that this opportunity gave
the Armenian people access to a valuable source of the ancient history of the Turkmen
people, the life path of its historical figures. During his speech, V. Khachaturian also
shared detailed information about the economy of Armenia and its role in the
international arena.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Mnatsakan Safaryan also made a
speech in which he emphasized the importance of the collection of poems by
Magtymguly Fragi translated into Armenian. Safaryan noted the importance of cultural
exchange between the two peoples, and also expressed confidence that this publication
will contribute to the further strengthening of ties between Turkmenistan and Armenia.
At the end of the event, the Minister of Education of Turkmenistan, Jumamyrat
Gurbangeldyev, thanked the guests and participants for the visit and emphasized the great
importance of cooperation in the field of education and culture between the two
countries.
The visit in the frames of this event of the President of Armenia to the School of
Young Diplomacy was very impressive for the future international specialists.
