The Delegation of Turkmenistan held a meeting at the Japan Institute of International Affairs
The issues of strengthening academic cooperation and scientific ties were discussed during the meeting of the rector of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Jumamyrat Gurbangeldiyev with the Director General of the Japan Institute of International Relations, Professor Tomiko Ichikawa held on April 27, 2023 in Tokyo. The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Japan A. Bayramov, including representatives of both sides.
During the exchange of views, the parties discussed the possibilities of academic and scientific cooperation, establishing a constructive and mutually beneficial partnership in promising areas of interaction. In this context, the possibilities of joint online lectures, scientific and academic exchange, establishing a dialogue at the expert level and organizing research publications are considered.
2023 has been declared the Year of “Happy Youth with Arkadag Serdar” in Turkmenistan. The motto of the year, which is aimed at drawing special attention to the role of youth in the ongoing reforms in Turkmenistan, is in harmony with the positions of our country in international relations on these issues.
Also, it was paid special attention during the meeting to the implementation of youth policy. Emphasis was placed on the development of the role of youth in international relations and the measures taken in Turkmenistan to implement the strategy of international youth cooperation.
Taking into account the huge determining role in the further sustainable and comprehensive socio-economic development of our Fatherland, strengthening its leadership positions on the world stage, youth is a priority of national and state interests.
The youth policy pursued by highly respected President of the country is aimed at creating the most favorable conditions for the formation, development and personal growth of young Turkmen citizens, expanding opportunities for the maximum realization of their intellectual, creative and spiritual potential in the interests of society and the state.
The parties agreed to further cooperate on youth policy issues and establish links for the exchange of experience in this direction.
As was noted, the meeting of the heads of the two leading institutions in the field of international relations and diplomacy of Turkmenistan and Japan was an important step towards strengthening cooperation and ties between the two countries.
