Competition titled “Neutrality as the humane principle of the Turkmen people”
On December 2, 2021, the Club “Lingvo World” of the Department of World Languages organized a competition under the title “Neutrality as a humane principle of the Turkmen people” at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The second- and fourth-year students of all faculties of the Institute, as well as schoolchildren from the school no.72 took part in the competition. It was held in the English and Russian languages. The purpose of the competition was to broaden students’ knowledge on neutrality, preventive diplomacy and to develop their language skills.
The competition consisted of 3 rounds, with four teams competing, one team from each faculty. The teams competed on the following tasks with the participation of schoolchildren: 1) to make a presentation in English on the theme “Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan”; 2) to translate or find English and Russian equivalents for Turkmen proverbs from the book “The Source of Wisdom”; 3) to make a short speech on “Preventive Diplomacy” in Russian.
The jury, consisting of instructors from the Department of World Languages, took a very fair approach in announcing winners. As a result, the team of the Faculty of International Economic Relations took the 1st place, the team of the Faculty of International Journalism took the 2nd place, and the team of the Faculty of International Relations took the 3rd place.
