Students of IIRMFA of Turkmenistan were awarded for outstanding performance in MUN
On May 28, 2024, the International University for Humanities and Development hosted the esteemed "Model United Nations" contest, a noble tradition celebrated with much enthusiasm. This event, organized by the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, saw participation from various prestigious institutions including the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the International University for Humanities and Development, the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly, the Institute of Turkmen National World Languages named after Doveletmamed Azadi, the International Oil and Gas University named after Yagshegeldi Kakayev, and the International Horse Breeding Academy named after Aba Annayev.
The primary goal of this competition was to provide students from higher educational institutions across the country with a comprehensive understanding of the United Nations General Assembly’s operations, the programs it adopts, and the roles and responsibilities of its leaders and staff. Additionally, the competition aimed to enhance students' language skills and foster creativity. Participants were divided into two committees: Energy Security and International Peace. Each student took on the role of a Plenipotentiary representative of a UN member state, defending their national interests and engaging in discussions on international relations and policy proposals.
The event highlighted the depth of knowledge and diplomatic skills of the students. A standout performance came from the group led by Suray Ovliyagulyyeva, a lecturer from the Department of International Relations and Diplomacy at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. This team delivered a successful speech and won prestigious prizes. All participants unanimously adopted their special resolution, developed during the competition.
Individual accolades were also awarded Rejep Rejepov, a first-year student of the Faculty of International Relations, received the "Choice of Audience" trophy. Archamyradov Dovetyyar, a third-year student from the same faculty, won the "Best Delegate" trophy, while Kerim Baymyradov was honored with the "Outstanding Performance" title. All awardees were presented with letters of honor, recognizing their exceptional contributions and achievements.
This event not only celebrated the students' academic and diplomatic prowess but also underscored the importance of nurturing the next generation of leaders in global governance and international relations.
