TRAINING COURSE ON WATER DIPLOMACY
On April 25, 2023, a training course on water diplomacy was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which was held in a hybrid format using modern video communication tools. The event was held within the framework of the project " Conservation and Sustainable Management of Land Resources and High Nature Value Ecosystems in the Aral Sea Basin for Multiple Benefits", implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan jointly with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). During the training course, issues such as trans boundary water cooperation in the Aral Sea basin, climate change and rational use of the region's water resources, water diplomacy and others were considered. Representatives of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea, UNDP, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection, the State Committee for Water Resources of Turkmenistan, the administration of the Lebap velayat, the administration of the Dashoguz velayat and higher educational institutions attended to the course. Conducting a training seminar contributed to the expansion and enrichment of experience in water diplomacy.
