The national costume of the Turkmen is a unique and vibrant expression of their material and spiritual culture. It beautifully reflects their traditions, way of life, and fundamental principles. The main pattern of the costume, which has become one of the most distinctive features of the unique material culture and moral outlook of the people, has been preserved for thousands of years. Thus, these costumes showcase the accumulated artistic skill of highly qualified specialists.
The inclusion of Turkmen embroidery art and the art of Turkmen national carpet weaving in the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity serves as a clear testament to the extensive efforts undertaken to preserve, enrich, and widely promote the cultural and spiritual heritage of the Turkmen people, who have made significant contributions to the treasury of universal values.
The national costumes of the Ashgabat Fashion House, both for children and adults, presented at the ceremony were made in a modern style that combined national traditions. Dresses made of natural silk and velvet, as well as national dresses decorated with hand embroidery, made a great impression on the participants.
