Online courses for Pakistani students
From 9th February to the 10th February 10, 2021 online course was organized by jointly offices – Embassy of Turkmenistan to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and Centre for Global and Strategic Studies (CGSS) of Pakistan. During this course Senior Lecturer of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan gave a lecture to the Masters/PhD level students from History, International Relations and Political Science Departments of reputed universities in Pakistan.
Firstly, Senior Lecturer of the Department of International Relations and Diplomacy at the Institute, Candidate of Philosophy Begench Karayev gave a lecture on the theme “Neutrality Policy of Turkmenistan”. It was a great opportunity for the Pakistani students to learn about various dimensions of Turkmenistan’s policy of Permanent Neutrality. As the lecturer noted, Pakistan actively supported our country’s positive Neutrality at the beginning of the process.
Secondly, Senior Lecturer of the Department of International Economic Relations at the Institute Perhat Chariyev’s speech was about tridimensional diplomacy of Turkmenistan, including Energy, Transport and Economy. There was noted that Turkmenistan successfully implements many projects with the brotherly country in these fields. Especially, TAPI gas pipeline project helps both countries strengthen bilateral relations and learn important aspects of energy diplomacy, the lecturer mentioned.
In addition, the Institute of International Relations built strong relationship with higher diplomatic institutes in Pakistan. For instance, Understanding Memorandums were signed with the Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies, Centre for Political Studies of COMSATS IT Institute, Academy of Diplomatic Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Islamic Republic of Pakistan. In addition, the Institute’s officials organized working visit by the invitation of COMSATS IT Institute to discuss the potentials of the future cooperation in 2016.
Above-mentioned events prove that our country maintains friendly relations with countries around the world, and the status of Neutrality contributes to Turkmenistan’s economic development, and active engagement in the region, thereby strengthening security and stability in every corner of the globe.
At the end of this online course, Pakistani students asked different questions about Turkmenistan-Pakistan relations, the role of Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan and also economic, energy and transport diplomacy.
