COURSE “EDTECH FOR ENHANCING LANGUAGE SKILLS”
On October 10-14, 20022, an online course titled “EdTech for enhancing language skills” was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The course was organized by the English Language Teaching Centre (ILTC) of the Ministry of Education of Malaysia within the framework of the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Program (MTCP) for the teaching staff of the Department of World Languages of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The participants of the seminar discussed about a range of facilitation skills and techniques used for students. Significantly, participants developed basic English language proficiency and learned about digital tools in the teaching and learning of English. The teachers exchanged views on the innovative methods of teaching foreign languages and their effectiveness and were acquainted with the recent concepts related to teaching, such as the 6 C’s for the 21st century learning, Triple E Framework, TPACK and others.
During the course, the ILTC experts provided detailed descriptions of what foreign or second language learners can do in terms of listening, speaking, reading and writing at six levels of proficiency. The course provided course participants with the opportunity to use English grammar correctly, acquire a good working vocabulary, speak fluently, interact appropriately, etc.
Holding such seminars will contribute to the strengthening of bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and Malaysia.
