THEMATIC LECTURES ON HUMAN RIGHTS FOR STUDENTS OF THE INSTITUTE
On February 27, 2026, a thematic lecture on human rights was held at the Scientific and Methodological Center for Sustainable Development Goals of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The event was organized in cooperation with the Regional Office for Central Asia of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR ROCA) for second-year students of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the International University for the Humanities and Development.
The lecture was delivered by Mr. Erkin Isakulov, Human Rights Adviser at OHCHR ROCA. During the session, Mr. Isakulov addressed the foundational concepts of human rights, providing students with a comprehensive introduction to the principles and norms that form the basis of international human rights law.
The lecture is the first in a series of three sessions planned within the framework of this cooperation. The subsequent lectures are scheduled as follows:
- March 17, 2026, 15:00 – “The UN Human Rights System”
- March 27, 2026, 15:00 – “Standards of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities”
The regular organization of such lectures within the framework of international cooperation makes a significant contribution to expanding students' knowledge of international human rights law and strengthening their academic competencies in the field of international relations and diplomacy.
