EFFECTIVE LESSON WITH THE COUNSELLOR
On March 1,2024, a training course entitled “ Modern Mechanism of Preventive Diplomacy in the Central Asia Region” was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The course was taught by the senior lecturer of the Department of International Relations and Diplomacy, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Turkmenistan Nurberdi Amanmyradov.
During the lesson N. Amanmyradov introduced the students to the mechanism, methods and practices of preventive diplomacy in modern international relations and international law. In his speech N. Amanmyradov emphasized that preventive diplomacy is an important tool for helping states in identifying and eliminating threats to peace and security.
In addition, the ambassador spoke about the mechanisms offered by the Ashgabat-based UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia on more complex issues ranging from terrorism and violent extremism, organized crime, drug trafficking and the situation Afghanistan to transnational threats.
During the lesson students addressed N. Amanmyradov with their questions interested.
The UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia conducts planning activities with high schools under the “Academy of Preventive Diplomacy” program. According to the mentioned program, 4 students of the Institute of International Relations will be selected in 2024, and they will increase their knowledge in the relevant fields during the year.
