A SEMINAR ON PREVENTIVE DIPLOMACY TOOK PLACE
On May 15, 2025, a seminar was held at the United Nations Regional Centre
for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia with the participation of students from
the Training Center for Priority Areas of Diplomacy of Turkmenistan of the
Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of
Turkmenistan, which was conducted by the Regional Climate Adviser for Central
Asia in the UK's Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) Undala
Alam.
During the seminar, using a dynamic simulation game, students explored
real-life issues and scenarios for cooperation on shared water resources. Their
interactions were effective and served as a reminder of how important joint,
thoughtful water diplomacy is for the future of Central Asia.
As part of the lesson, students received answers to all their questions from
the Regional Climate Adviser for Central Asia in the UK's Foreign,
Commonwealth & Development Office.
