International relations: a culture of peace dialogue
As it is known, between May 22 and 25, 2024, the international competition "International Relations: A Culture of Peace Dialogue" will be held jointly organized by the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. More than 250 students from higher educational institutions of Central Asia, Caspian states, the Republic of Turkiye, the People's Republic of China, and Turkmenistan were registered to participate in this competition. More precisely, more than 40 masters and students from 11 prestigious higher educational institutions from 9 foreign countries, as well as students from 22 higher educational institutions of the country will participate in the competition. In particular , Moscow Institute of State International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, ADA University of Azerbaijan, Institute of Political and International Scientific Studies of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Caspian University of Technology and Engineering named after Sh. Esenov of Kazakhstan, Diplomacy named after K. Dikambaev of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic. Expressing interest in participating Masters and students of the Academy, Tajik National University, Russo-Tajik (Slavic) University, Ferdowsi University of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Istanbul Jerrahpasha University of the Republic of Turkiye, China University of International Relations, World Economy and Diplomacy University of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan will participate in this competition for the first time in our country.
Based on the instructions of the President, as well as on the initiative of Turkmenistan on the 78th session of the UN General Assembly, the aim is to spread the principles of peace-loving, strengthening trust and mutual dialogue in the Resolution "2025 - International Year of Peace and Trust" among the youth. This competition is important in achieving positive results in promoting peace, promoting international dialogue, promoting cultural diplomacy, and developing international cooperation of young people. In addition, this international competition, which will be jointly organized by the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, aims to identify students' talents in international relations on the basis of a mutual intellectual competition , to strengthen friendly relations between students of the respective regions, and to promote the exchange of educational experience. It aims to provide, train young specialists capable of solving the scientific and practical problems that arise today, establish and strengthen mutually advantageous relations between higher educational institutions of the country and foreign countries, and promote the cultural and educational diplomacy of Neutral Turkmenistan.
The international competition will be organized in individual and group form, and according to the relevant regulations, its individual stage will be held on the basis of test questions and written-examination tasks. Test questions will reflect regional and international relations, their political-diplomatic, trade-economic, historical-cultural and other topical areas, in particular, the following areas and issues:
— Importance and content of important initiatives of independent and neutral Turkmenistan;
— Wide participation of the youth of neighboring and regional countries at the international level in the implementation of the Resolution "2025 - Year of International Peace and Trust" adopted at the 78th session of the UN General Assembly at the initiative of Turkmenistan;
— Urgent issues of the international agenda to effectively establish dialogue and cooperation for regional peace;
— modern directions and methods of peaceful dialogue in international relations;
— the influence of the policy of neutrality in peacemaking;
— effective directions of cultural diplomacy and its impact on the development of international cooperation;
— new and urgent directions of regional cooperation.
Also, the preliminary composition of the problems to be considered and proposed to be solved in the international competition is as follows:
— modern directions and methods of peaceful dialogue in international relations;
— increasing influence of the policy of neutrality in creating peace;
— effective directions of cultural diplomacy and increasing its impact on the development of international cooperation;
— new directions of mathematical methods in modeling sustainable development;
— modeling of international negotiations;
— use of information technologies in the study of international economic relations;
— study of global trends in international transport logistics; use of mathematical modeling in adopting optimal solutions in international relations;
— to propose new and urgent areas of regional cooperation.
In addition, at the individual stage of the international competition, participants will test their skills in solving tasks and problems. Tasks and problems include the use of mathematical methods in international relations, mathematical modeling, econometrics, logistics, etc. will be from areas. The contents of the problems include new directions of mathematical methods in modeling sustainable development, modeling international negotiations, using information technologies in studying international economic relations, studying global trends in international transport logistics, using mathematics and mathematical modeling in adopting optimal solutions in international relations, etc. will be from areas.
In the individual competition, the results will be determined by the sum of the top two rounds.
In the group stage of the international competition, participants will compete in solving tasks and problems as a group. During this stage, participants will learn about the use of mathematical methods in international relations, mathematical modeling, econometrics, logistics, etc. they will solve 5-10 problem-tasks in different directions. At this stage, group winners will be remarked.
A joint "wisdom attack" brain-ring competition of the participants of the international competition will also be held. The event will be in a brainstorming format, with 1 hour and 30 minutes of discussion, with an additional 30 minutes to prepare, agree and finalize the final proposal. The main purpose of this round is to present the optimal methods of dialogue and cooperation between international entities and their types as a result of the analysis of the urgent problems of the international and regional situations.
Winners are not determined at this stage. Active participants in the discussion, groups or participants whose ideas and suggestions are widely reflected in the content of the Final Proposal will be highlighted.
Individual and team winners will be awarded gold, silver and bronze medals, 1st, 2nd and 3rd level diplomas, letters of honor and gifts, respectively.
The Organizing Committee was established for the highly organized organization of the international competition. Cultural, recreational and presentation events were planned for foreign guests. This will enable foreign guests to get acquainted with the wonders of the beautiful capital city, as well as the features of the National School of Turkmen Diplomacy and the national experience of training young diplomats.
