Award ceremony for school students who got winning places in the French language competition
On June 8, 2023, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted awarding ceremony for school students who got winning places in the competition held in April-May 2023 among the students of secondary schools of Ashgabat and velayats which involved competitive topics such as creative writing, questionnaire and “Weather and Time” organized by the French Institute under the Embassy of the Republic of France in Turkmenistan. A ceremony was held to announce and reward the winners of the lecture competition held for the third time in Turkmenistan on the terms of answering and organizing an interview on the topic "Weather and Time".
The event was attended by Acting Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of France to Turkmenistan Ms. Magali Katajar, Director of the French Institute Mr. Roman Guverne, representatives of that Institute, representative of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, Vice-Rector of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Gulshat Yusupova, French language instructor of the Department of World Languages Ogulbeg Gazakova, French language teachers and school students of secondary schools of Ashgabat city and velayats, including students of our Institute.
The event was opened by Vice-Rector of the Institute of International Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Gulshat Yusupova, who congratulated the students who were successful in the competition and wished them every success in their studies. Acting Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of France to Turkmenistan Ms. Magali Katajar noted that a large number of students from secondary schools of Ashgabat and velayats participated in this competition.
Students of our Institute recited the poems of Magtymguly Pyragy translated into French, read out a passage from the book of our Hero Arkadag “Ahal-Teke is our pride and glory” ("L'Akhal-Téké, gloire et fierté du Turkmenistan") translated into French and the French "Dernier Métro" was sung. Moreover, an exhibition of French-language wall newspapers, textbooks, dictionaries, and works of art was organized.
The winners of the competition who took I, II and III places were announced. Winners received diplomas from the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and the Embassy of France, as well as valuable gifts from the sponsors of the competition such as Bouygues Turkmen, TotalEnergie and VINCI Construction, embassies of French-speaking countries (Armenia, Romania, Ukraine, Belgium, Switzerland, Canada), Swiss watch company "Tissot", "Alliance/ Boutique de Paris, French bakery La Tartine, Dessange beauty salon, Chopard perfumery, Eurocosmetics company, Bossan Concept store.
