INTERNATIONAL TRAINING SEMINAR ON ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
On November 27, 2025, faculty members from several higher education institutions in our country and members of the UNESCO Clubs participated online in an international webinar titled "Teacher Professional Development: The Potential of Artificial Intelligence in the Teaching and Learning Process." The webinar was organized by the International Institute of Online Education (IIOE), established under the International Centre for Higher Education Innovation (UNESCO-ICHEI). The university lecturers, digital education experts and researchers from various countries around the world participated in this seminar.
During the webinar, the significant role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies in the modern educational system was extensively described, along with the opportunities for improving teaching and learning methods. Dr. Kaushal Kumar Bhagat, Associate Professor at the Advanced Technology Development Centre of IIT Kharagpur, India, and an international expert in digital education, delivered a speech. He provided detailed information on the convenient capabilities AI offers in preparing lesson plans, evaluating pupils and students, personalizing learning, and creating creative content. He also gave an insightful talk about current developments in AR/VR technologies, blended learning methods, and technology-based education systems.
The IIOE is an international platform that promotes the digitalization of higher education, established by UNESCO-ICHEI in 2020. The platform's goal is to train faculty members in digital pedagogy, foster the online learning environment, and strengthen digital education cooperation between countries. Currently, IIOE unites thousands of educators from dozens of countries, organizing courses, seminars, and experience exchanges on innovative developments in higher education.
Participating in such educational events makes a worthy contribution to increasing the digital literacy of educators, adapting young specialists to the contemporary educational landscape and raising the quality of courses taught in higher education institutions.
At the end of the seminar, participants exchanged views on the future impact of generative AI capabilities on the development of the education system and were introduced to the relevant training programs developed by IIOE.
