Seminar Titled “Comprehensive Improvement of Teaching Foreign Languages”
On March 31, 2022, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted a seminar on “Comprehensive Improviement of Teaching Foreign Languages” organized by the Department of World Languages with the participation of school teachers. The seminar on the peculiarities of teaching foreign languages held to implement the Concept for the Improvement of Teaching Foreign Languages in Turkmenistan was also attended by teachers of foreign languages of schools No. 76, 72, 68 in Ashgabat. During the seminar Instructors of the Department of World Languages of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan M.Orazowa, T.Babayeva, A. Yazberdiyeva, as well as Lecturer of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Mr. Maag Gerwin, and graduate student of the Department of English at the Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages G.Gurbanmamedova made presentations on teaching methods of foreign languages.
The participants exchanged views on new and traditional methods and best practices in teaching foreign languages. The meeting was very interesting and effective. Methods of teaching foreign languages to people of different ages were widely discussed. During the seminar, the participants exchanged experiences on the organization of various games, scenes, discussions, debates, the use of songs, poems, videos, computers, the Internet, and technical means in teaching foreign languages.
The participants of the event also had the opportunity to see the practical use of the methods discussed during the seminar by participating in a demonstrative lesson by O. Gazakova, French language instructor of the Department of World Languages.
