On December 20, in 2024, a training session on “Diplomatic Protocol and its Implementation” was held under the motto “The Fount of Wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi” at Institute of the International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The session was attended by members of the Young Diplomats School.
By consistently implementing a peace-loving foreign policy, Turkmenistan has been actively engaging in international relations. Thanks to the tireless efforts of our Esteemed President, Turkmenistan has gained global experience in this field. The country is continuously working to training enthusiastic professionals in this field, teaching them the principles and norms of diplomacy, specially the standards of Turkmen diplomacy, and ensuring that they learn to adhere to diplomatic practices and traditions.
During the session, the instructor gave an in-depth presentation on modern standards of protocol, the formation of diplomatic protocol and etiquette between states, the national customs, traditions, and historical evidence that shape these protocols, using specific examples. The instructor also spoke about the protocol standards and etiquette related to the presentation of credentials by ambassadors, conduct of diplomatic affairs, meetings, negotiations, and events, as well as the importance of adhering to the appropriate dress codes and conduct in diplomatic activities, at the same time, history has provided interesting stories about how failure to observe the rules of etiquette can lead to sad, funny, and even controversial situations.
At the end of the session, a quiz on “International Terms” was organized . During the competition, the members of the Young Diplomats School answered questions according to their knowledge and skills, and expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the distinguished instructor for his impressive presentation.
