Cooperation between National academy of Turkmen diplomacy and The Diplomatic Academy of the UAE
By consistently implementing a foreign policy based on the principles of peace-loving, positive neutrality and mutually advantageous cooperation, Turkmenistan attaches great importance to the development of effective cooperation with all countries of the world, including the countries of the Middle East. In this regard, it is necessary to emphasize the traditionally friendly and fruitful nature of cooperation with the United Arab Emirates. This cooperation has been brought to a qualitatively new level and enriched in recent years.
Relations between Turkmenistan and the UAE are being dynamically developed bilaterally and multilaterally within the framework of prestigious regional and international organizations. This is facilitated by a high-level dialogue based on trust and mutual respect, specific to Turkmen-Emirati cooperation.
Diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and the United Arab Emirates were established on October 10, 1995, and the UAE Embassy in Turkmenistan was opened on August 20, 2002. Over the past years, the high-level visits between the two countries and the agreements signed as a result of them in all areas have been a solid foundation for expanding bilateral cooperation. Active cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UAE in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, cultural, scientific-educational spheres is one of the priorities of intergovernmental dialogue.
It is necessary to mention that relations in the field of education, which is an important area of Turkmen-Emirates cooperation, are developing effectively. A clear example of this is the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy of the United Arab Emirates during the official visit of the President of the Republic of Turkey to the United Arab Emirates in 2022. This was another important step in the direction of strengthening cooperation in the field of science and education between Turkmenistan and the United Arab Emirates.
As we know, the Diplomatic Academy named after Anwar Gargash (AGDA) prepares specialists who will make a great contribution to the development of the United Arab Emirates civil service and diplomacy to ensure global stability and strengthen international peace. However, the main goal of the Academy’s work is to train civil servants who can thoroughly study and analyze important issues of international relations and develop the ability to use them in the diplomatic service.
In recent years, educational cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UAE has become more active. The visit of the representative group led by Nikolai Mladenov, the CEO of the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy of the United Arab Emirates to the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and their presentation to the students and professors of the Turkmen National School of Diplomacy is a clear proof of this. These measures were one of the important steps in the practical implementation of the Agreement between the two countries.
During the visit, the representative group of the Diplomatic Academy named after Anwar Gargash of the UAE visited the training studio of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the editorial office of the electronic newspaper “Voice of the Young Diplomat”, the White House, where the intelligence contest “Young Messengers of Peace” is held, the important place of Turkmen diplomacy. they toured the scientific-methodical centers for training and sustainable development goals.
Then Nikolai Mladenov, CEO of the Diplomatic Academy, gave a speech to the students of the Turkmen National School of Diplomacy. During his speech, experienced diplomat Nikolai Mladenov spoke extensively about the features of diplomatic work, his personal experience, Innovation Diplomacy, Air Diplomacy and the main areas of Turkmen-Emirates relations. As it is known, Nikolay Mladenov, who has worked in various important positions in the Bulgarian government and in various representations on Middle East issues in the UN system, is an experienced diplomat who has a thorough knowledge of the features of the Middle East, in particular, the diplomatic service of the UAE.
That is why the speech of the CEO of the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy of the United Arab Emirates before the students and professors of the Turkmen National School of Diplomacy is very important. In terms of developing bilateral educational cooperation, the experience of the UAE in training diplomatic staff is also worth studying. The speech of the experienced diplomat aroused great interest among our students and professors. During the meeting, the fact that our students addressed the CEO Nikolay Mladenov with their questions is a clear reflection of the effectiveness of the speech of the honored guest.
