The Conference "The Role of Women in Science" Was Held
On February 11, 2025, a conference entitled "The Role of Women in Science" was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The event was organized by the UNESCO Club "Culture of Peace" on the occasion of International Day of Women’s in Science. It was attended by representatives of UNESCO clubs and departments operating in higher educational institutions across the country, as well as students and faculty members of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The conference began with an exhibition showcasing the cultures of different countries. It was initiated by Aygozel Ovezova, Senior Lecturer of the Department of World Languages of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The event continued with a speech by Chynar Rustemova, Executive Secretary of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO, PhD in Philosophy, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, and Hero of Turkmenistan. She provided an in-depth overview of Turkmenistan's participation in UNESCO programs and projects, its role within the organization’s key structures, and the prospects for bilateral cooperation in digital projects and information exchange.
Other distinguished speakers at the conference included Gulshat Yusupova, Rector of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Gulalek Annanepesova, Head of the Postgraduate Department of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan and Candidate of Philological Sciences; Mahri Perdelieva, Lecturer of Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly, Candidate of Historical Sciences, and member of the UNESCO Chair "Cultural Heritage – from the Past to the Future"; and Lilianna Annaeva, member of the National Equestrian Ensemble of Turkmenistan "Galkynysh".
The speakers highlighted well-grounded policies of the Esteemed President, Turkmenistan's engagement in international relations continues to expand. They emphasized the country’s significant potential for further cooperation with UNESCO, particularly in preserving cultural heritage, promoting international humanitarian collaboration, and advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
At the conclusion of the conference, participants expressed their deep gratitude to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero Arkadag, and Arkadagly Hero Serdar for their unwavering efforts in strengthening Turkmenistan’s position in the international arena and guiding the country on a path of continuous progress and development.
