SCIENTIFIC-PRACTICAL CONFERENCE WAS HELD
On May 28, 2025, a scientific-practical conference titled “The Role of Youth Ecological Education in Achieving Sustainable Development” was organized by the UNESCO Chair “Ecological Education for Sustainable Development” of the Seyitnazar Seydi Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute. Participants from the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan actively took part in the event via digital platform.
The conference was timed to coincide with World Environment Day. In their speeches, participants emphasized that environmental protection and compliance with ecological standards are crucial directions of state policy of Turkmenistan. Aygozel Owezova, a senior lecturer at the Department of World Languages of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, presented a scientific paper titled “The Significance of International Nowruz Day in Ecological Policy of the Country.” Additionally, Ayjan Omarova, a lecturer at the Department of International Law and Comparative Law Studies, presented her paper titled “Equity and Universality – Fundamental Principles of Water Diplomacy of Turkmenistan.”
The organization of such conferences is clear evidence of the scientific attention paid to the country’s environmental policy.
