The Planet Earth unites us all

The planet Earth is our home. We need to care about the Earth, just as we care about our future. To make our dreams come true, we must first of all take care of the environment that surround us. We need to work together and create environmentally sound world. By actively engaging in environmental activities we can protect the environment.

In 1972, the UN General Assembly designated June 5 as World Environment Day. The first celebration, under the slogan “Only One Earth” took place in 1974. In the following years, World Environment Day has developed as a platform to raise awareness on the issues facing our environment such as air and plastic pollution, sustainable consumption, sea-level increase, food security and others. Furthermore, World Environment Day helps drive change in consumption patterns and build a greener future.

I would like to underline some set of rules that can help us to protect our environment. We should reuse, recycle, volunteer for cleanups, conserve water, take public transports, plant more trees and many others. The most significant method to preserve the environment is to plant trees. Trees may take longer to grow, but they serve for the next generation. Have you ever walked under the scorching sun and wished there was a tree to offer you shade? If you have, what did you do about it? Trees provide shade and eliminate the need for air conditioning. Also they provide food and oxygen. They help save energy, clean the air and help combat climate change. Forests are the lungs of our planet Earth, which clean the air and give fresh strength to our people. Moreover, you can substitute your car for alternative methods such as biking, walking and taking public transport. Let’s care about our planet Earth and protect it for future generations.
