Cooperation between the Institutions of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan
On July 12 of this year, in Tashkent, within the framework of the state visit of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Uzbekistan, the rector of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of our country J. Gurbangeldiyev and the director of the International Institute of Central Asia (ICA) A. Nasyrov signed a Cooperation Agreement.
The Agreement provides for the support of business and scientific contacts, exchange of experiences and opinions. In addition, both sides will direct their efforts to creating favorable conditions for cooperation in political research and the study of regional security, including humanitarian and cultural research, organizing and holding forums, conferences, briefings, and consultative meetings.
On the eve of the signing of the Agreement, an international conference was held at the initiative of the heads of the International Institute of Central Asia with participation of representatives of state and analytical structures of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
Opening the conference, the director of the ICA A. Nasyrov and the rector of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan J. Gurbangeldiyev were unanimous in their opinion that, thanks to the strong political will of the Leaders of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, there is a great intensification of political, diplomatic, trade and economic, transport and communication, cultural and humanitarian ties.
At the forum, Turkmenistan was represented by the heads and employees of the Center for Strategic Studies of the Institute of International Relations, the International University for the Humanities, Magtymguly National Institute of Language, Literature and manuscripts of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan and the National Cultural Center.
The Agreement on cooperation between Institutions signed in Tashkent will give a new impetus to strengthening ties between the two fraternal peoples of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
