Delegates from Turkmenistan participated in the training on the EU foreign policy
From 13 to 24 May 2024, representatives of various governmental institutions of Turkmenistan, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Finance and Economy, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs attended “Training for Diplomats and Officials from Central Asian countries on the EU Foreign Policy” in Brussels and Bruges, the Kingdom of Belgium.
This unique two-week training, which was attended by 25 representatives from various government agencies of the Central Asian countries is organised on the initiative of the European External Action Service and the Service for Foreign Policy Instruments and organised by GOPA PACE and the College of Europe, and funded by the European Union.
During the training, visiting professors of the College of Europe and experts from the European External Action Service, including the Rector of the College, Ms. Federica Mogherini, and the Special Representative of the European Union for Central Asia, Ms. Terhi Hakala, told the participants about the foreign policy of the EU, its structure and the achievement of agreements between member states. In addition, they spoke in detail about the conduct of bilateral and multilateral negotiations, the adoption of sanctions imposed by the Union, as well as the EU’s relations with the Central Asian countries.
The training was conducted with the goal of achieving more effective relations in the development of cooperation between the European Union and the Central Asian countries.
