THIRD FORUM OF ANALYTICAL CENTERS “CHINA + FIVE CENTRAL ASIA STATES”
On September 21-22, 2023, the Third Forum of Analytical Centers “China + Five Central Asia States” was held in Xi'an. The topic of the Forum was “Join efforts to create a closer community of shared destiny China - Central Asia”. The event was organized by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. As the co-organizer of the event, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan was presented by Jumamyrat Gurbangeliev, rector of the Institute and Shiri Shiriev, director of the Scientific Center for Strategic Studies of the Institute.
In their speeches, the experts expressed their expectations about how China can develop cooperative relations with each of the Central Asian states individually and with the region as a whole at the current stage of development.
The Turkmen side noted the positive impact of the current cooperation between the states of the region on ensuring universal peace and stability. Moreover, it was emphasized that the approach to solving the fundamental problems of the global agenda is based on the closeness or their overlap.
Turkmenistan advocates equality and justice in international relations, respect for the territorial integrity of countries and non-interference in the internal affairs of independent states, implementation of sustainable development goals and support for effective measures taken by the international community in the fight against international terrorism, extremism and other threats.
