Effective training courses organized by Anwar Gargash Academy in UAE for students
On 8-12 December, a training course entitled “Global Connections: Diplomatic Training on UAE Politics, Culture and Economics” was organized for the lecturer and students of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan with the support of the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Turkmenistan at the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy.
During the course, professional experts from each sector held training sessions on different topics including Turkmenistan-UAE relations, climate change and cultural, economic perspectives of the UAE. On the first day, H.E. Dr Saeed Al Shamsi, Chairman of the Council of Retired Diplomats, gave a lecture on the history and culture of the UAE, and on the second day, Mustafa Bayoumi, Research Fellow at the Academy, gave a presentation on ‘Climate Change and Diplomacy - COP Outcomes’. For third day, Obaid Al Dhanhani, Head of Middle East Policy gave a lecture on Foreign policy of the UAE, for fourth day, Dr. Sara Chehab, Senior Research Fellow at the AGDA prepared a session on the Economy of the UAE. In addition, cultural visits to the historical places and museums of Abu-Dhabi gave for the program participants the opportunity to discover cultural diversity of the United Arab Emirates.
On the third day, Obaid Al Dhanhani - Head of the Middle East Policy Section - gave a lecture on UAE foreign policy, for the fourth day, Dr Sarah Chehab, Senior Researcher at AGDA, prepared a presentation on the UAE economy. In addition, cultural visits to historical sites and museums in Abu Dhabi provided the participants with the opportunity to get acquainted with the cultural diversity of the United Arab Emirates.
Historical sites such as the Louvre Museum in Abu Dhabi, Qasr Al Watan and Qasr Al Hosn Presidential Palace, which played a main role in shaping the sovereign UAE and its rich culture, impressed all the participants of the training sessions. As part of the course, we, students also visited the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company - ADNOC, accompanied by Ahmed Al Hay Hamad Khamad Khamis Al Hameli, where we learnt about trade relations between Turkmenistan and investment opportunities in the UAE.
This program assisted in building communication channels between the two national diplomatic schools of Turkmenistan and the UAE.
