A TRAINING LESSON ON WATER DIPLOMACY HAS BEEN HELD
On November 7, 2024, at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, in the field of "Water Diplomacy" of the Training Center for Important Areas of Diplomacy of Turkmenistan, on the topic "The importance of issues related to climate change considered by the participants of the COP-29 conference - Framework Convention on Climate Change" regular training session was held. The training session was conducted by Magtymguly Akmyradov, Advisor to the Department of International Organizations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, on the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan.
The purpose of COP-29 is to develop common approaches to addressing climate change and its impacts on socio-economic development, environmental sustainability and biodiversity, as well as implementing advanced solutions to help adapt to and mitigate climate change. Currently, our country is carrying out programmatic activities to ensure the ecological well-being of the country, to successfully implement the tasks set in the National Strategy of Turkmenistan on Climate Change and the National Forest Program, and to preserve our beautiful nature. All of these are of great importance in improving human health, which is the most valuable asset of the state, and in extending life expectancy. The fact that independent Turkmenistan is a member of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and active participation in the Conference on Climate Change is a clear proof of the successful implementation of the country's environmental policy.
Regular training session on “Water Diplomacy” for the students was very effective. During the session the students found answers to the questions which they were interested in.
