ROUND TABLE MEETING DEDICATED TO THE CONSTITUTION DAY OF THE REPUBLIC OF UZBEKISTAN
On December 22, 2025, a round table meeting titled “The Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan — The Foundation of a Rule-of-Law State and Sustainable Development” was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The event was attended by professors, teachers, and students of the institute.
The meeting began with an introductory speech by Gulshat Yusupova, Rector of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. Following the opening, Ravshanbek Alimov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Turkmenistan, and Ovezdurdy Muhammetberdiyev, Professor of the Department of International Relations and Diplomacy and Doctor of Sociological Sciences delivered their speeches.
In this context, the Honorable Ambassador spoke on the theme “The Updated Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan as a Legal Basis for Fundamental Reforms.” The distinguished guest emphasized that this historical document not only improves state administration but also provides a solid foundation for implementing profound reforms in all areas of social life. The Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan was originally adopted on December 8, 1992. Its updated version was adopted following a nationwide referendum held on April 30, 2023.
Diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan were established on February 7, 1993. Since then, Uzbekistan has become one of the largest, most reliable partners of our country. Today, the cooperation between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan serves as a vital strategic condition for stability and development in the Central Asian region. Furthermore, their foreign policy goals and tasks are based on universal human interests and a commitment to ensuring peace and global security both within the region and around the world.
The round table meeting served as clear evidence of the steady growth and expansion of cooperation in the fields of science, education, and culture between the two friendly nations.
