DEVELOPING DIALOGUE WITH LATIN AMERICA: MEETING WITH THE AMBASSADOR OF THE ARGENTINE REPUBLIC
On April 25, 2026, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted a meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Argentine Republic to Turkmenistan, Enrique Ignacio Ferrer Vieira.
The visit to the «Forge of Cadres» of national diplomacy was one of the Ambassador's first events after officially assuming his duties. On April 24, the head of the Argentine mission presented his credentials to the Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, D. Gulmanova. Addressing the faculty and students, Mr. Enrique Ignacio Ferrer Vieira emphasized the importance of developing bilateral ties and provided the audience with a detailed overview of Argentina’s rich cultural and historical heritage, key foreign policy priorities, and modern achievements on the world stage.
During his speech, the Ambassador highlighted key aspects of Turkmen-Argentine cooperation in detail, focusing on interaction within international organizations, primarily the UN as well as prospects for expanding partnership in various fields and the role of both countries in ensuring global peace and security.
The question-and-answer session generated significant engagement from the audience. Future diplomats inquired about the specifics of the Latin American vector of foreign policy and mechanisms for strengthening ties between Ashgabat and Buenos Aires. The Ambassador provided answers to all the students’ questions, noting their high level of preparation at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
