BUILDING A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE IN CENTRAL ASIA
Between October 27-30, 2024, a high-level meeting was held in Almaty, Kazakhstan, as part of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) regional project titled Promoting Sustainable Societies to Prevent Violent Extremism in Central Asia. This meeting served as an important platform to strengthen cooperation among countries in the Central Asia region, discuss new initiatives and ideas aimed at achieving sustainable development, and foster collaboration on key regional issues.
As part of the this event, a 4th year student of the Faculty of International Economic Relations, of the Institute of the International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Resul Gylyjov participated in the companying exhibition where he presented his project titled "Eco-Homes of the Future: Solar and Wind Energy." This project highlights the importance of integrating alternative energy sources into daily life to protect the environment and increase energy efficiency. It outlines practical opportunities for building sustainable housing, energy savings, and preserving natural resources through the use of solar and wind energy.
During the meeting, representatives from various countries discussed the project's scope and shared ideas. The significance of regional cooperation was emphasized especially in strengthening joint efforts to implement new technologies and innovations. Particular focus was placed on the role of youth in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and drying forward regional development.
Holding such events not only promotes sustainable development in Central Asia but also contributes to addressing global issues such as peacekeeping and preventing violent extremism.
