MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF TURKMENISTAN INSTITUTE OF INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS
Admits students for the 2026/2027 academic year for the Master’s program in the following fields of study:
1. Political Sciences and Regional Studies (Fields of study: Digital Diplomacy; Oriental Studies; Analysis and Strategic Planning; Peace and Neutrality).
2. Legal Studies (Fields of study: Private International Law; Public International Law; International Arbitration and Business Law).
3. Economics and Management (Field of study: International Economics).
4. Mass Media and Information-Library Studies (Field of study: Political Communication and Internet Journalism).
Instruction is conducted on a fee-paying basis in the Turkmen language.
Citizens of Turkmenistan with an education level of no less than higher education are admitted to the Institute on a competitive basis based on the results of entrance examinations in the following respective fields:
- For Digital Diplomacy; Analysis and Strategic Planning; Peace and Neutrality – fields of study within social sciences and humanities;
- For Oriental Studies – fields of study within social sciences and humanities, as well as Oriental languages;
- For Private International Law; Public International Law; International Arbitration and Business Law – fields of study within law;
- For International Economics – fields of study within economics and management;
- For Political Communication and Internet Journalism – fields of study within mass media and information-library studies.
Official documents are accepted in velayat (regional) centers and in the city of Ashgabat (for the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag) from July 13 to July 26, 2026.
List of Official Documents:
- An application addressed to the Rector in the prescribed form;
- A questionnaire (application form) in the prescribed form;
- Original copies or certified copies of the higher education diploma and its transcript (a higher education document issued in a foreign state must be accompanied by its certificate of recognition in Turkmenistan);
- A health certificate in the form prescribed by the Ministry of Healthcare and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan;
- A reference letter from the last place of study (place of work, or military unit);
- Eight photographs measuring 3x4 cm;
- For employed applicants, a certified copy of the employment record book (labor book).
In addition to the documents listed above, applicants must present the following to the admissions committee and submit their copies:
- Passport;
- Military ID card or military registration certificate.
Applicants bear personal responsibility for providing incorrect information and forged official documents.
Entrance examinations and admission to the Institute (in the city of Ashgabat) are conducted from August 5 to August 7, 2026.
Entrance examinations are conducted on the basis of higher education curricula. With the exception of subjects conducted in the respective foreign language, entrance examinations for all other academic subjects are conducted orally in the state language:
- Fields of study: Digital Diplomacy; Oriental Studies; Analysis and Strategic Planning; Peace and Neutrality – Theory of International Relations, English;
- Fields of study: Private International Law; Public International Law; International Arbitration and Business Law – Fundamentals of the Legislation of Turkmenistan, English;
- Field of study: International Economics – Economic Theory, English;
- Field of study: Political Communication and Internet Journalism – Fundamentals of Journalism Theory, English.
Applicants who fail to appear for an entrance examination at the specified time without valid reasons will not be granted an additional opportunity.
Based on the results of the entrance examinations, a preferential right to admission into the Master’s program is granted to those who have completed a related specialty matching their chosen field of study and who have a work experience of no less than 2 years.
