In Nur-Sultan, experts discussed effective methods of interaction in the new geopolitical conditions
On June 29-30, 2022, the capital of Kazakhstan hosted an international conference on the topic “Central Asian cooperation in new geopolitical conditions: challenges and prospects”. The conference was organized by the Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Leading experts, analysts and media representatives from Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan took part in the discussion of the most important problems of a political and economic nature.
Issues of international trade, problems of transport and communication services, development of cooperation to ensure food security and other challenges of our time were discussed at the plenary session, as well as in working sections in areas.
Experts also focused their attention to the issues of interaction in the field of culture. The importance of exchanging best practices in this delicate area, creating favorable conditions for the development of tourism in the region was noted.
One of the main topics of discussion was the issue of rational use of water resources in the countries of the region. The emphasis was placed on environmental protection.
In addition, at the conference, analysts and experts focused on the actualization of joint counteraction to manifestations of terrorism and illegal migration.
The representative of the Scientific Center for Strategic Research of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Dovletmyrat Mammadov, speaking at the conference, reported on the measures taken by Turkmenistan to develop international transport corridors and prospects in this field. D. Mammedov also noted that Turkmenistan, within the framework of the programs and agreements adopted at the international level on the development of transport and logistics infrastructure, has taken and will take all measures to implement its obligations. The participation of representatives of Turkmenistan in similar to the Astana forum may be another confirmation of this.
Only in conjunction with neighbors in the region and other partners is it possible to successfully develop trade and economic and improve the situation in the transport and logistics sector.
