A MEETING DEDICATED TO THE INTERNATIONAL FORUM “CENTRAL ASIA – A PLATFORM OF PEACEFUL COEXISTENCE” WAS HELD
On 20 November 2025, a meeting dedicated to the significance of the upcoming international forum “Central Asia – A Platform of Peaceful Coexistence” was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The meeting took place within the framework of the “Preventive Diplomacy” and “Energy Diplomacy” areas of the Training Center for Priority Areas of Diplomacy of Turkmenistan of our Institute.
The audience was addressed by the Head of the Department of International Relations and Diplomacy, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan, holder of the badge of distinction “Türkmenistanyň ussat diplomaty (Master Diplomat of Turkmenistan),” Professor, Doctor of Historical Sciences, and Candidate of Philosophical Sciences Amangeldi Rahmanov.
In his speech, A.Rahmanov provided a detailed overview of the priorities of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy, the specifics of the country’s permanent neutrality status, and the international initiatives put forward by Turkmenistan. Special attention was given to the importance of the announced forum. Professor A.Rahmanov emphasized that the convening of the international forum “Central Asia – A Platform of Peaceful Coexistence” had been announced by the esteemed President of Turkmenistan on the first day of the high-level plenary meeting of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
As is well known, Turkmenistan considers issues of ensuring universal peace and mutual understanding in inseparable connection with the civilizational aspects of modern development and the need to preserve and strengthen cultural and spiritual ties. In this context, Central Asia, which for centuries has played an objective role as a civilizational bridge between East and West, is today called upon to revive its historical mission—to become a platform for dialogue, cooperation, and the rapprochement of values and worldviews.
In addition, during his address to the General Assembly, the Head of State proposed holding a Caspian environmental forum in 2026.
The regular organization of such meetings within the national school of Turkmen diplomacy makes a significant contribution to enhancing the political awareness of students and developing their additional educational competencies in the field of international relations and diplomacy.
