Good news! UNESCO and the Turkmen musical instrument - Dutar
How possible not proud to hear such wonderful news that the art of making dutar, the art of music were included in the Representative List of UNESCO of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
As we know, Dutar is one of the most popular musical instruments in the music world of the Turkmen people. Dutar is a popular musical instrument among various peoples in Central Asia and each nation has similar names according to its dialect. This musical instrument is found in Uzbeks, Karakalpaks, Kyrgyz, Uighurs, and several other nations, in which dutar differs from each other in size, view and even their strings. Dutar is one the most important musical instruments in the Turkmen art world and in the development of folk art.
If we look at our history and literature, one can see dutar is a tool of national sense of feeling of the Turkmen people. It is a miracle that sounds in our hearts and tells us the story of the happy and glorious life of the Turkmen people and also conveys the wisdom of poetic lines of poets artfully.
Turkmens are great people in their music world, describing the historical events of our lives, showing our beautiful and happy life, declaring unique character and unity of our people through its unusual music all over the world.
