THE REGIONAL YOUTH SEMINAR CONDUCTED IN ASHGABAT
On January 29-30, 2025, the regional youth seminar “Drops of the Future: Youth Workshop Water-Food-Energy Nexus” was held at the “Ýyldyz” Hotel in Ashgabat. The event was organized by the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and the Swiss initiative “Blue Peace Central Asia”.
The seminar brought together representatives of international organizations, ministries, and agencies of Turkmenistan, faculty members and students of the country’s higher educational institutions, as well as interested citizens from Turkmenistan and abroad, selected based on their submitted essays. The Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan was represented by a faculty member H.Nurmamedov and students who actively participated in discussions and working sessions.
The first day of the seminar focused on the rational use of water resources, as well as energy and food security. Experts shared their knowledge and practical experience in these fields. Additionally, participants engaged in group competitions, interactive games, and discussions, which deepened their understanding of global challenges and encouraged them to seek joint solutions.
On the second day, the program included a field visit to the “Bagtyýarlyk” drinking water treatment station, where participants learned about water resource management principles and water purification processes.
The seminar served as an important educational and discussion platform, providing young people with an opportunity to exchange ideas, learn about international approaches to ensuring water, energy, and food security, and contribute to the development of solutions for pressing issues.
