A training course on Global Energy supply for the Sustainable Development Goals
On March 20, 2024, at the “Energy Diplomacy” Training Center for Priority Areas of Diplomacy of Turkmenistan, established at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan was held a training course on Energy Diplomacy and its role in international cooperation, in promoting sustainable development, in defining and developing the tasks set for the global energy promotion of Sustainable Development Goals. A course was conducted by Kakajan Mommadov, a lecturer of the Department of International Relations and Diplomacy of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan, holder of the insignia “Türkmenistanyň ussat Diplomaty”.
During the course, the lecturer explained that energy security and sustainable energy issues are at the forefront of the modern development of the world. Energy demand is a determining factor in all the issues facing the modern world, such as job creation, security, climate change, food, manufacturing and a number of other issues.
According to the diplomat, the definition of the 7th goal of the global Agenda as “Ensuring universal access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy sources for all” is due to the global nature of this problem.
