The National Foundation Day of Korea was celebrated in Ashgabat
On October 2, 2024, a ceremonial event organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Turkmenistan was held at the "Ýyldyz" hotel in Ashgabat to celebrate the National Foundation Day of Korea. The event was attended by representatives of Turkmenistan's foreign policy office, members of foreign diplomatic missions in the country, and numerous guests. The event featured vibrant musical performances, including songs by Peristan Torayeva, a third-year student of the Faculty of International Journalism at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, who performed in Korean, leaving a lasting impression on the guests.
It is worth noting that October 3 is one of the main national holidays in South Korea, celebrated as the National Foundation Day. According to legend, this date marks the birth of Tangun, the forefather of the Korean people, who established the first state in the East, opening the first chapter of Korea’s history.
In this regard, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Turkmenistan, Ji Kyu-Taek, delivered a congratulatory speech, highlighting Korea's foreign policy, which promotes freedom, peace, and prosperity in international relations, as well as the strategic directions of successfully developing Turkmen-Korean relations. The ambassador emphasized the importance of strengthening traditional humanitarian ties and the need to further develop fruitful cooperation in education, science, healthcare, culture, tourism, and sports. He also highlighted the significance of the 63rd plenary meeting of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly, where Turkmenistan's initiative to declare 2025 the "International Year of Peace and Trust" was of special importance.
The musical performances during the official reception provided the attendees with spiritual enjoyment.
