SCIENTIFIC AND PRACTICAL ADVICE ON THE 75TH ANNIVERSARY OF HUMAN RIGHTS
Turkmenistan is an active member of the UN and contributes to human rights issues. Today, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of human rights, a scientific conference was held hall of our institute with the participation of Mrs. Matilda Bogner, the representative of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights for Central Asia.
During the meeting, Mrs. Matilda Bogner talked about the current activities in the field of human rights protection and answered the students' questions with great pleasure.
As noted, the first goal for the protection of human rights began with the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights on December 10, 1948 at the Palais de Chaillot in Paris by the UN General Assembly. The adoption of the declaration was supported by 48 of 58 members of the UN. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights consists of an introduction and 30 articles. The original document was printed in English and kept in the Palais de Chaillot.
The Declaration describes norms that cover all aspects of human life and are considered mandatory by all states. Article 1 of the Declaration begins with these words, recognized by all as the Golden Rule: "All men are born free and equal in dignity and rights". Article 2 states that people are entitled to equal rights and freedoms regardless of any distinctions such as sex, skin color, gender, language, religion, political or other beliefs, national or social class, property origin and other circumstances.
