TRAINING ON THE USE OF «EDUCATION FOR JUSTICE» (E4J) MATERIALS
On January 18, 2022, was held a combined course under the auspices of the Regional Office for Central Asia of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), together with the United Nations Office on Counter Terrorism (UNOCT) and the Program (USAID) “Safe Migration in Central Asia”, a training course “Education in the name of justice” in the form of a hybrid course for teachers of higher educational institutions of the country.
The training was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, the faculty of the Law departments of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the Magtymguly Turkmen State University, the International University for the Humanities and Development.
The training was organized within the framework of Sub-programme-2 “Crime prevention, expanding access to justice and strengthening the rule of law” of the UNODC Program for the countries of Central Asia for 2022-2025 on the topics: 1) Human trafficking and smuggling of migrants; 2) Countering terrorism; 3) Cybercrime: cybersecurity and cybercrime prevention. During the event, in order to train the teaching staff of the above-mentioned educational institutions, a training was conducted on the use of educational materials by UNODC "Education for Justice" (E4J), intended for primary, secondary and higher levels of education. Further topics were also discussed according to the Action Plan.
The recommended literature on crime prevention and strengthening the rule of law was prepared and published by the organizers of the training based on an analysis of world experience. Here they noted that such courses are planned to be continued among teachers in the future.
At the event, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan represented the teaching staff of the Department of International Law and Comparative Law.
At the end of the training, an exchange of practical experience took place in the form of a session of questions and, accordingly, answers to them. Certificates were granted to all participants.
The participants of the event expressed their gratitude to the organizers of the Training.
