7 September- International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies
Humanity has always dreamed of a healthy life, because health is a gift that gives a person a normal state of physical and spiritual strength of the body. “If it weren't the dust, people would have lived for a thousand years,” noted the famous doctor Lukman Hekim. This once again confirms the importance of nature and fresh air for human health.
In accordance with UN Resolution 74/12 of December 19, 2019, the United Nations General Assembly decided to declare September 7 International Day of Clean Air and celebrate this glorious date annually, starting in 2020.
Clean Air Day was announced to raise public awareness at all levels and to urge countries to tackle air pollution. In its decision, the UN General Assembly stated that fresh air is the most serious threat to human health and daily life.
Better air quality, efforts to mitigate climate change can lead to better air quality. Our country is also actively cooperating with UNEP, the United Nations Environment Program, in order to establish clean air. The UN has four global conventions on environmental protection - the Convention on Biological Diversity, Climate Change, Combating Desertification and Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer. Within the framework of these conventions, the country has adopted a number of laws "On nature protection", "On fauna", "On environmental protection", "On state ecological expertise" and many others to ensure the protection of the environment in our country was updated.
A study by officials from the World Health Organization (WHO) has shown that fresh air prolongs human life. It is noted that the prevention of global air pollution will increase the average life expectancy by 2.2 years in the framework of the recommendations of the international organization. According to the University of Chicago, global changes that meet the standards of the World Health Organization will have a positive impact on all people on Earth.
The words such as “clean air” and “blue sky” in the name of the new glorious date “International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies” also mean inextricable link with human health. That is, "clean air" symbolizes a healthy lifestyle, and the word "blue sky" - a peaceful life. This holiday is a clear evidence of endless human efforts.
