New bridge of friendship and mutual understanding between Turkmen-Bahraini cooperation
Just as there is a special date in the life of every person, so in the country there are also special dates and memorable events in the history of international relations. The motto of the year 2023, which was declared the “International Year of Dialogue as a Guarantee of Peace” in accordance with resolution 77/32 of the United Nations General Assembly by the initiative of Turkmenistan impulses once more Turkmenistan to strengthen national unity, solidarity, as well as improve interstate relations by peacefully means. In this regard, the resolution also aims to support international efforts to reduce conflicts and create favorable conditions for the negotiation path.
As we, the citizens of a peaceful country, we confidently emphasize that Turkmenistan consistently expands its diplomatic missions, interested international partnership, as well as steadily implementing the policy of peace, good neighborliness and productive international cooperation, taking an active part in the development of balanced decisions to urgent problems of the world community on the diplomatic path. This new motto “Dialogue as a Guarantee of Peace” provides the best opportunity through diplomatic peaceful means to reduce the level of any conflict in the world and has an impact on the improvement and strengthening of world peace.
As it is known, at present time, one of the special dates in the history of bilateral relations is TURKMEN-BAHRAIN RELATIONS. If we get acquaintance with Bahrain, the first it occurs to us that Bahrain is a unique land with an ancient and storied culture that spans many centuries. Despite modernization and a cosmopolitan outlook, Bahrain is today essentially an Arabic culture. Relatively new pastimes like soccer share time with traditional arts like falconry, horse riding, hunting, and horse and camel racing.
Confidently entering into the system of modern international relations, our country is in the of movement of establishing wide diplomatic relations with the countries of the world and actively developing constructive cooperation with the UN, the European Union, Organization of Islamic Cooperation and other major international organizations. Meanwhile, peace-loving foreign policy led by our national leader has been sincerely applauded by world community.
Turkmenistan consistently strengthens traditionally friendly and mutually beneficial relations with neighbouring states, especially with the Central Asian and Caspian Basin countries. At the same time, close cooperation with the states of the Middle and Near East, Asia and Pacific Ocean region is developing. The main course of the foreign policy of Turkmenistan is multilateral partnership with the countries of the European and American continents. In recent years, upon the instructions of the head of state, activities have been undertaken to expand fruitful dialogue with the African countries.
In the period of the Revival of a New Era of the Powerful State, the peaceful foreign policy strategy of the Respected President is being successfully implemented. The regional and international reputation of the Motherland is constantly growing and enriching. As it was mentioned above, Turkmenistan has established diplomatic relations with more than 151 countries of the world. One of the places where such friendly and fraternal relations are constantly maintained is the country of the Arab world, Bahrain. As it is known, Turkmen-Bahrain diplomatic relations were established in December 1995. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in December 1995, Turkmenistan and the Kingdom of Bahrain have strived to a long-term comprehensive partnership based on the principles of mutual benefit, trust and respect for each other's interests.
According to it, on February 21, 2023, under the motto of the year “Happy Youth with Arkadag Serdar”, our Esteemed President paid an official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain. The Turkmen leader's first visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain is also of particular importance in further strengthening and developing bilateral cooperation.
In one word, this current visit is intended to open a new important chapter in the history of interstate relations, which are based on the bonds of friendship, brotherhood and spiritual closeness connecting with the peoples of the two countries, as well as it is also aimed at developing large-scale cooperation for the benefit of common well-being.
According to the results of the Turkmen-Bahrain summit talks, a package of bilateral documents was signed. And one of is the Memorandum of Understanding between the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Academy of Diplomatic Sciences named after Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
They will impulse once more Turkmenistan to strengthen the further development of mutually beneficial cooperation in sphere of science and education between Turkmenistan and the Kingdom of Bahrain.
We are very grateful to our esteemed President for his great efforts to develop and strengthen peace in the every aspects of life for the Turkmen people and as well as for the great opportunities for establishing cooperation in other areas and building a bridge of friendship and mutual understanding between the two fraternal peoples bound by common spiritual and cultural traditions.
We wish our esteemed President long life, sound health and great achievements in his endeavors.
