Results of the Competition “Russian as the Language of International Communication and Diplomacy”
On February 21, 2022, an awarding ceremony of the winners of the competition titled “Russian as the Language of International Communication and Diplomacy” took place at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The competition was organized by the Department of World Languages on the occasion of the Day of Diplomatic Workers of Turkmenistan.
The purpose of the competition was to discover students’ creative abilities, develop their language skills, increase their desire to learn Russian, implement the Concept for the Development of a Digital Education in Turkmenistan and the Concept for Improving the Teaching of Foreign Languages in Turkmenistan.
Today Russian is one of the most actively used languages in the world. Moreover, it is a language of international communication, an official language of many international organizations, particularly it is one of the official languages of the UN.
According to the results of the jury, Serdar Rahimov, third-year student of the Faculty of International Relations of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan won the Grand Prix, Jemal Rematullayeva, fourth-year student of the Faculty of International Relations of the Institute won the 1st place, Anvar Esedov, fifth-year student of the Faculty of International Law of Institute won the 2nd place, Ermek Kubanov, second-year student at the Baranovich State University of the Republic of Belarus, won the 3rd place.
In addition, Annaberdi Kashanov, first-year student of the Faculty of International Journalism of the Institute, Guncha Hamedova, second-year student of the Faculty of International Journalism, Dovlet Babakuliyev, third-year student at the Faculty of International Law and Lachin Hojayeva, fourth-year student at the Faculty of International Relations won an audience award.
It is known that knowledge of foreign languages helps to be fluent in information technology, increase the level of intellectual development of person. The pace of development of the study of foreign languages in Turkmenistan, first of all, is directly related to the active participation of our country on the international arena. Also of particular importance is the role of knowledge of foreign languages in the promotion of ongoing progressive reforms, achieved successes and milestones, national heritage, material and spiritual values. Based on this, thanks to the efforts of our esteemed President, necessary conditions are created for teaching and learning foreign languages at all levels of the educational process in the country.
