«YOUNG SUPPORT TO ONE WORLD» POSTER COMPETITION WAS HELD
On March 15, 2024, at the «Carbon Center» of the Bouygues Turkmen company, a poster competition «YOUNG SUPPORT TO ONE WORLD» was held among the students of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The competition was organized by the «Council of Young Scientists» of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Water Diplomacy direction of the Training Center in priority areas of diplomacy of Turkmenistan. The main goal of the competition is to explain the significance of the 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
Among younger generations, there are common approaches to climate change, its impact on socio-economic development, environmental sustainability and biodiversity, as well as the implementation of innovative solutions to promote climate change adaptation and mitigation. Ecology, environmental protection and the fight against climate change are among the current issues of cooperation. The UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, which entered into force on March 21, 1994, was adopted to reduce human impacts on the ecosystem. The Convention is generally recognized and ratified by 198 countries around the world. Therefore, it is very important to clarify the significance of the mentioned convention among students.
Teams consisting of 4 students from each faculty took part in the competition and the name of each team was related to the preventive climate change. Participants of the competition spent 30 minutes on prepared posters using resources provided by the organizers. Each poster prepared by the groups has a slogan in Turkmen, Russian and English, expressing the importance of the prevention of climate change. After preparing the posters, one student from each group explained its meaning to the jury in 5 minutes.
Based on the decisions of the jury, consisting of one teacher from each faculty and one representative of the «Bouygues Turkmen» company, the team of «Arassa ösüş» the faculty of International Economic Relations took the 1st place, the team of«Eco-dip» the faculty of International Relations took 2nd place, the team of «Altyn damja» faculty of International Journalism took 3rd place and was awarded Letters of Gratitude. The Grand Prize was won by the group «Эко-юристы» of the Faculty of International Law and they were awarded a Certificate of Honor and memorable souvenirs from the Youth Organization of Turkmenistan named after Magtymguly.
