OSCE CENTRE IN ASHGABAT HOSTED SEMINAR FOR STUDENTS
On June 12-13, 2026, the OSCE Centre in Ashgabat hosted a two-day training seminar titled «Inclusive Engagement and Equal Participation in Climate Action». This event was organized within the framework of the OSCE PROJECT «Strengthening Cooperation in the Area of Climate Change, Environmental Good Governance and Environmental Security».
The students from Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the International University for Humanities and Development, the Oguz Han Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan, the Turkmen State Medical University named after Myrat Garryyev, and the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction attended this seminar.
The primary objective of the training was to strengthen youth representatives’ understanding of the linkages between climate change and security, as well as to enhance their leadership and analytical skills. During the sessions, students attended presentations by international experts on various climate security topics. In the practical part, students took part in an interactive simulation focused on developing and presenting a draft Youth Resolution on Climate Engagement.
Throughout the seminar, students demonstrated high level of engagement and proficiency in foreign languages, gaining valuable experience as future diplomats in the fields of international environmental policy and diplomacy.
